The Packaging:
This item is shipped by Amazon and great care is taken in the safe arrival of this product. The design is well thought out and is highly functional. I love the fact that it has a dropper to apply the serum since the formula is so viscous. Had Valentia chose a different dispenser I'm afraid I would end up dispensing too much product. The dropper gives you the right amount of control when dispensing this product. I've actually been using it for a month now and have barely made a dent in it, so in terms of cost this is a very economical product. The glass, brown bottle also helps maintain the efficacy of the ingredients.
Directions:
The directions state: "As natural ingredients may separate, shake lightly for 1 -2 seconds before use. Wash and pat face dry. Apply a small amount to face and neck decollete daily. Allow to dry before applying moisturizer. " DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT apply more than once a day or you might experience a side effect which I will detail later in this post.... so keep reading!
Results:
Because of all the hype I have heard around Vitamin C based serums my expectations for this serum may have been a little deluded. With that said, this product did not meet my expectations for it. Please keep in mind that these were just my results, your experience could differ.
What I liked about the serum:
It has a divine smell. It smells like fresh picked oranges. Once applied the product absorbs extremely quickly and leaves the skin feeling soft & supple even in this harsh NYC weather. The serum is tinted orange so it actually makes the skin appear orange-ish which gives the immediate appearance of a glow.
What I did not like:
The product dries very sticky on the skin. I suppose this may have had something to do with how my skin reacted; After the first week of using this product my skin broke out really, really bad. Prior to using this product my skin was on its way to becoming clear. Older scars had started to heal and fade with the help of other products. Now I have NEW scars, plus old scars that I have to now use fading products to fix.
I would like to suggest to anyone reading this that if you do intend to purchase this product, do not use it more than once a day.... this may be what contributed to my breakout. I would suggest using it 3 times a week ideally. Since I have dropped my dosage to 3-4 times a week I have not experienced any other breakouts but I don't really see any other benefits. My pores still appear the same. My dark spots have not faded while using this product. Overall, I would say this product is just okay. Had this product been positioned as a moisturizer booster I would have given it a more favorable review. However, because this product claims to even skin tone, reduce wrinkles and tighten pores all of which I did not experience, I give it a
